Orchestration Of Our Faith

Co-Labor

1 Corinthians 3:9 For we are God’s fellow workers. You are God’s field, God’s building.

Co labor is from the word sunergos (4904) which means a fellow worker, associate, helper. It is from two root words sun (4862) meaning union with/together, companionship, resemblance, completeness and (2041) ergon=labor, work.

I knew that I was a co laborer with Christ, which largely comes from this verse above and other references in New Testament scriptures about apostles being co laborers like, Romans 16:3, 9, 21; 2 Cor 1:24  (Side Note: I looked up all references of this word and I encourage you to do the same if you have a concordance, if not try a free online concordance such as Bible Hub.  You should always be checking things out for yourself, digging in and asking Daddy to guide you.  You should never just take someones word for it. Each of us are called to examine the scriptures ourselves.)  My idea of co labor use to be more like doing what the boss told me to do, or what I felt he was calling me to do.  This was largely due to my misperception of who Daddy was and how he wanted to relate to me. This could look like hosting a bible study, morning prayer time, reading a Psalm/Proverb a day, fasting, church attendance, serving, giving, anything basically we feel is our hands on work as a Christian we must do.  I’m not saying these things are necessarily bad, what I’m saying is these things are not the work we are called to.  Most of the things in the list above will be seen in the fruit of us doing what our real work is.  The problem with these things is that when they center stage as THE work that we believe we are called to do there in lies the problem as that is not the work Daddy wants from us.

John 6:29 The work of God is this: to believe in the one he has sent.

The word believe here pisteuo (4100) which means to

believe, have faith in, trust in.  It is derived from Pistis(4102) and peitho (3982) meaning persuade or be persuaded. It means Faith Believing which is being persuaded by the Lord to the point of belief. Faith (Divine Persuasion) is always God’s gift to us, it is never produced by people.

The word work here is ergon (2041) it is the same word we see in co labor. Our work as stated by Jesus to those who wanted the life they saw him doing was to Believe, to allow ourselves to be persuaded by Daddy to the point of Belief.  To allow him to persuade you, to permit him to lavish his perfect Love (agape) on you. That understanding of work is so much different from a boss telling us what to do.1390217_65415655

As we can see in 1 Corinthians 3:9 when we co labor with Christ by allowing ourselves to be persuaded to the point of believing him, what are we believing? We are believing in the one
that he has sent, Jesus. What was Daddy’s purpose in sending Jesus?

John 3:17 “For God did not send the Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world might be saved through Him.

I love the word saved here, it is Sozo(4892) and it means saved, healed, rescued, delivered, to be made whole in every sense.  It means deliver out of danger and into safety from the penalty of sin (death) and delivered from the power of sin into the fullness of His provisions. That it is finished work of the cross, that is the New Covenant of Grace.

1 John 3:23 This is His commandment that we believe (pisteuo) in the name of His son Jesus Christ and love (agapao) one another, just as he commanded us. Whoever keeps his commandments abides in God and God in him. And this we know that he abides in us, by the Spirit whom he has given us.

The word believe here is the same one we see above, pisteuo (4100) meaning Divine persuasion unto belief.

Love here is Agapao (25) and it means to prefer, to love, embracing Daddy’s will it is from Agape (26) which means to prefer, divine love

If we believe in Jesus’ finished work on the cross and the gift of his Grace, his Spirit comes and lives inside of us.  His spirit, Daddy’s very essence of himself.  If God is love (agape), then the Spirit in us is Love (Agape). We love others because he first loved us. (1 John 4:19)  This verse is not saying if we keep his commandments then Daddy will abide in us, it is saying because he abides in us we will keep his commandments and agape others.  Agape love is defined as to prefer, it is allowing Christ to live his life through us.  How do we allow him to live his life through us? We believe in the finished work on the cross and we accept the gift of his Grace.  It is then that the fruits will spring forth. To many of us are trying in our own effort as I stated above to produce the fruit ourselves. This in essence is false fruit and will leave you joyless and exhausted in the long run as it is laborious to us as it was not the work we were created for.  Producing the fruit is Daddy’s work in us, our work is simply to believe.

2 Corinthians 6:1 And working together [with Him], we also urge you not to receive the grace of God in vain.

Working Together here is from the root word sunergos (4904) from the very top of this post meaning co labor

Vain here is (2756) and it means ineffective, empty, worthless, as no value or profit to you.

I encourage you today to not receive the grace of God as worthless, null and void in your life. To receive it as null and void is to believe that your work is anything other than what Daddy said, which is simply to believe.  To not believe is not living in the Fullness of all Jesus came to do, it is not seeing ourselves as partakers of God’s life. If you read my post yesterday that is the definition of Sin. (You can read it here.)

Will you allow yourself to rest in the finished work of the New Covenant of Grace? Will you to trade in your vain attempt at false labors and simply trust him to do his work in you. Will you stop trying to produce the fruit in your life and simply trust Daddy and allow him to do his job. He will produce the fruit, you can trust him in that. Just as a branch doesn’t produce the fruit it is simply furnished with it.

625596_39205293 is the Orchestration of our Faith, he is the one composing and arranging it. He is forming each part and element and putting it in the proper order to create the beautiful finished work. Let’s choose today to trust him in that.
The word for Joy in the New Testament is Chara: it means the awareness of God’s Grace, it is Grace Recognized.

Daddy I pray today that each person reading this would have a new revelation of your Grace, that your would show them personally how you are today orchestrating their Faith. That they would be able to rest from their false labors and simply trust your hand to produce in them the fruit that comes from you alone.  Because you abide in us, we abide in you and thus the fruit springs forth.  Thank you for your goodness and Grace and for your beautiful intimate friendship.
